Dragon's Little Friend

Wow!! It's been a bit quiet around here hasn't it....!

Sorry about that it's been a very busy few months but even though I'm getting married in.... 11 days now...!  I'm back!

I fell a bit out of love with colouring but last night I found my mojo again having not touched my poor neglected Copics for about 7 months!!!

The new MelJen designs from Crafty Boots could not keep me away any longer so I made this card with the totally adorable Dragon's Little Friend stamp!

I coloured the dragon and his butterfly friend with Copics.  I used the colourless blender to give the dragon a slightly scaly effect on his skin.

All the papers and embellishments I have used on my card are Stampin' Up! and you can read more about them and how to get your hands on them on my Stampin' Up! blog.

I used the Stampin' Up! Artisan Embellishment Kit as well as papers from the First Edition, Floral District and Fan Fair ranges.

I also used Stampin' Up! Heat & Stick powder and dazzling details glitter on the bits around the dragon - I tried to capture the sparkle but it's hard to see in the photos!

Dragon's Little Friend and the rest of the MelJen stamps are available from Crafty Boots (with free P&P too!!!)

Hope you like my new creation and I promise to be back soon with more!

Happy Birthday Bev

I made this card for the lovely Bev whose birthday was on Monday.

I used Stampin' Up! products:

- Beau Chateau and Attic Boutique DSPs (both retired)
- Elementary Elegance stamp set (from the 2012 sale-a-bration)
- Artistic Etchings Stamp set

I embossed the crown and frame with gold embossing powder and stamped the Happy Birthday sentiment in Early Espresso on Very Vanilla Card.

I added some basic rhinestones to the card to finish it up on the flags of DSP I added behind the frame, and on the crown.

Three

The theme at Crafty Boots Challenges this fortnight is set by Emma and is to use 3 of something.

I was playing around with Art Parts and came up with this flower for a friends birthday which uses 3 discs (that's not what they're called but I'm not sure what they're called and that's what they are really!!!! I coloured the three discs with alcohol inks and stamped on the top one with a polka dot stamp and embossed it using clear embossing powder.

I then painted the flowers and leave using Kaisercolor paints from Crafty Boots. I stamped the same polka dots on the leaves and embossed them in gold.

Finally I used some alphabet stickers to put Happy Birthday on the flower.

Alfie's Birthday Card

Don't laugh...!! I don't normally make a birthday card for our dog! Although I do always make him doggy cakes and have a little party but this was his first birthday card.

I just couldn't resist using the new Preppy Pups stamp set from Some Odd Girl which is available from www.craftyboots.co.uk

Twinkle twinkle little star

The theme at Crafty Boots Challenges is Stories/Nursery Rhymes.

I made this canvas inspired by Twinkle Twinkle Little Star.

Thankyou plaque

I made this plaque for my Mum and Dad back in July to say thank you for my birthday presents!

I started off with some art parts which I bought through the Crafty Boots Stash Savers Club.

I started off by colouring the base using dusty concord distress stain and then used the butterflies from the 'Bliss' stamp set from Crafty Boots

I stamped the butterflies in black ink all over the plaque and then sprayed it with Perfect Pearls spray, also from Crafty Boots.

I painted the flourishes on the frame with gold Perfect Pearls spray to make it stand out from the rest of the frame.

I painted the smaller frames with 'Pretty Pink' paint from Crafty Boots  and then stamped sentiments from the Fan and Thankyou Mae stamp sets, also from Crafty Boots!

Finally, I stamped the Butterflies from the Bliss set again but this time on grunge paper.  I stamped them in dusty concord and then painted them with the gold Perfect Pearls spray again.  Finally I added some tiny pearls to the butterflies.

To finish it off I used some pink ruffled ribbon from Stampin Up to enable the hanging of the plaque.
