Scrapbooking

My lovely friend Lorna who is sadly not a crafter (I'm trying my best to convert her!!) asked me to help her to make a scrapbook for her Dad's birthday.  We started it the other night and only managed to get three pages done - but here they are!!

On the front page we used paper from Craftwork Cards Fruit Scoop collection, orange card candies, 'Happy Birthday' peel offs and some felt number stickers.  We also used this 'family' embellishment which came in a set of 'dipsticks'.

For the second page there was a photo of her Dad in a Mickey Mouse t shirt which she thought was very funny!  We used paper from Craftwork Cards again and backed the photo and text onto glitter card.  We added some gem stickers into the corners of the backing of the photo and some edge peel offs around the text.

Finally we found a Mickey Mouse image online to use.

For the third photo was a photo of her Dad with a cat.

We used the same Craftwork Cards paper and glitter card.  I tied two pieces of twine together and knotted it to decorate the border of the photo.  I also used some upside down candies with gems in to decorate the corners (I got this idea of using candi upside down from the Craftwork Cards blog).

Finally we stamped and embossed a pawprint in silver on some navy card.

I don't do that much scrapbooking but every time I do I think I should do more!  I bought an album when we were in Egypt in January and saved lots of things from our holiday but haven't got round to doing it yet.  I was so unwell while we were there I think I'm putting off the memories!!!!

I'm looking forward to tomorrow as I have the day off work to do a bit of shopping and hopefully LOTS of crafting!!! :)

Hope you all have a great day!!

Warren in blue

It's almost halfway through the work week!! The weekend is at least in sight!!

After experimenting colouring Warren in pink I couldn't resist but do another Warren card in blue.

Everything on this card is from Craftwork Cards other than the felt stickers I have used to spell 'Brother'.

I coloured Warren with Promarkers and Kuretake Wink of Stella pens.

Thanks for popping by, have a great day!!

Warren in Pink

Well it's Tuesday already!  Don't know about you but Monday whizzed by!  Think it's because I have so many things on my to-do list at the moment! Busy busy!

Todays card is using another cute Warren image from Craftwork Cards.  I'm sure Warren is meant to be a boy but I wanted a really cute girly bunny so coloured "him" in pink! :)

I coloured Warren with Promarkers but the flower and heart have been coloured with Kuretake's Wink of Stella pens.

I then put candies all around the edge of the image.  I decided to use purple candies to match the flower so there wasn't too much of a pink overload.  I then backed the image onto a piece of pink paper and then shaped card blank - both from Craftwork Cards.

Quite a simple card but I think this bunny is really cute in pink!!!

Hope you all have a great day, thanks for stopping by!

Good luck

Hope you all had a good weekend!!  I think it went far too quickly!!  I do only have to work 4 more days and then I'll be in Spain for a week and a bit (and my birthday!!!)

I did have a good weekend though.  On Saturday I went and met my friend Dionne to go round a couple of craft shops in Billericay.  Got a few bits and ideas for some upcoming projects that I can't wait to get started on tonight!!

On to today's card...I made this card for a friend from work who is moving to Australia.

The backing paper is from Craftwork Cards fruit scoop collection.  The hot air balloon I cut using the Hot Air Balloon Shaped card template cutting file from The Cutting Cafe, cut on my cricut.

I finished it off with some felt stickers to spell 'Good Luck', pink and silver card candi around the edge of the card and some gem alphabet stickers to spell out her name 'Xandra'.

Quite a simple card really but I was really pleased with how it turned out.

Have a great day!!

ECP Challenges DT ~ Gold

Hope everyone is having a good weekend!!

I have another DT card to share with you today.  The theme over at ECP Challenges this fortnight is gold and here is my DT card.

The pink backing paper with gold foiling is from Craftwork Cards, as is the gold sentiment.  I then used some cream and gold "pabric" with some really funky gold peel offs round the edge.

The image is 'Polly' a rubber stamp from Polka Doodles.  I coloured Polly with Promarkers and metallic marker in gold.

I hope you can all join in with the challenge.  Can't wait to see your creations!

I am entering this card into Polka Doodles "All of a Flutter" challenge.

Come fly with me

Can you tell I've been in a bit of a pink mood this week?  Pink is my favourite colour and there's another pink card coming on here tomorrow too!!

I LOVE this card.  Not just because it is pink!

This is my DT card for The Poodles Parlour where the theme this fortnight is 'Come Fly With Me'.

The image is Felicity from The Poodles Digi Doodles.  Isn't she so cute?!  I coloured Felicity with Kuretake zig art and graphic pens and then added some glitter on her wings and the bottom of her dress.

All the papers used are from Craftwork Cards and I finished the card off with some pink flat back pearls!

I am entering this card in Polka Doodles "All of a flutter" challenge.

Hope you like it!!  :)

Have a good weekend!!

Glitter Geeks ~ Handbags & Gladrags

Happy Friday!!  The weekend is almost here!!!  It seems like this week has been a particularly long week!  On the plus side this time next week I will have finished work ready for a week in Spain!  (And my birthday!!) :-)  I can't wait!!!

Anyway on to today's card.

The theme at the Glitter Geeks challenge blog this week is 'Handbags & Gladrags' and this is my DT card.

The image is from a Lili of the Valley stamp which I have coloured with Kuretake zig art and graphic pens.  I then made a stepper card using various different papers which are all from Craftwork Cards.

To finish the card off I used some peel offs to create the sentiment, a punched strip of flowers on the front and then some ribbon, small gems and candies.

Hope you like the card and will join in with our challenge this week!! :)

Stamping dragon... & VERY EXCITING NEWS

Sorry this card is a bit late!  My internet was playing up last night so couldn't get on to blogger to schedule it!

I recently discovered digis from Stamping Dragon Designs! Oh my goodness how cute are they!!!!!

I love these little dragons!  I coloured them with my Kuretake zig art and graphie pens - direct onto the paper rather than watercolouring.  I love the bright vibrant colours you get from these pens!

I ran the red card through the Cuttlebug with a swirly embossing folder.  I mounted this on a piece of yellow shimmery paper and finished off with ribbon, doodle dewdrops, card candies and a sentiment from Craftwork Cards.

Hope you like it! :)

I also have a couple of other things to share.

I was recently given the opportunity to review products from 'Scrapbookerry'.  Today I received my product to review - a 6.5"x6.5" squash book.  From the photos I had seen on Scrapbookerry's site I wasn't quite sure what I would do with it but now I have it I think it is brilliant!!! (I've already asked Kerry if she can make me another one!!!)  I might be using it next week to do a mini scrapbook for a friend's Dad but if not I might not get time to use it until after my holiday.  Either way as soon as I have finished working with it I will post my review here straight away!

My VERY EXCITING NEWS I have to share is that I have been chosen to join the design team for Papercrafts TV!!  I am extremely excited about this and can't wait to share my creations with their fabulous products with you!  They are also opening a shop in Cardiff soon which I am looking forward to visiting!!

Hope you all have a good evening!

Another year...

Hello!!

Well today's card is... a bit different? hehe!  I'd never thought of colouring this cute hare in any colour other than grey, brown or white before but decided to experiment a bit!  He also looks great green! :)

I have had a Tim Holtz clock die and a clock stamp (which I didn't realise until I came to make this is also Tim Holtz!) that I have been itching to use!

This is a birthday card for a family friend but I hope the recipient will not be offended!!

I find it hard to know where to start with male cards.  I had decided I would use this hare stamp from Polka Doodles Wonderland stamp set so thought would use some backing papers from the Wonderland CD.

I then stamped the clock images on the backing paper.  I also printed another paper from the same CD, in the same colour but with bigger polka dots.  I stamped the words onto it, punched out a scalloped circle and then used distress inks to colour it so that it would stand out a bit more than being the same colour as the background.

I used the clock die with some purple felt which matched the colour of the hare which I coloured with kuretake zig art and graphic pens.

I finished the card off with two clock charms with some bakers twine tied to them.

Hope you like today's card, thanks for stopping by!! :)

Skateboarding boy

How is it only Tuesday?!  Yesterday seemed to last forever!  I think it's because I'm counting down the days til my holiday!! (11)

This card is for Keiron's brother.  He does a lot of skateboarding and I really wanted to find a skateboarding image for his birthday card.  I struggled to find one but luckily Jacki from The Poodles Digi Doodles designed one which is available in her store!

I coloured the boy in with Kuretake zig art and graphic pens and Aquamarkers.  The backing papers, card candi and sentiment are all from Craftwork Cards and then finished the card off with some ribbon.

Hope you all have a great day!! :)

Last of the fathers day cards

When I came to wrap my Dad's Father's day presents I realised I didn't have any tags so had to make these really quickly!

For the first one I dyed a shaped card blank from Craftwork Cards using distress inks.  The image is a stamp from Lili of the Valley which I coloured with my new Kuretake Zig Art & Graphic pens and Aquamarkers.   I finished it off with a silver card candi and felt letter stickers to spell out 'Dad'.

For the second card I used another Craftwork Cards card blank in a different shape.  I ran a dark blue piece of card through the Cuttlebug with a spotty folder, and added a blue polka dot ribbon.  This is another Lili of the Valley stamp coloured with Kuretake zig art pens and Aquamarkers.  Finished off with some clear doodle dewdrops and the same felt stickers.

I'm really glad I spent so long making these little gift tags as when Dad ripped the wrapping off his presents they got screwed up with all the  ripped wrapping paper!!!!! hehe!! :)

Hope you're all having a good evening!

Tooth shaped card

Wow three cards blogged in one day! Busy day for Crafty Boots!  There's no stopping me now I have my new desk!

When I saw this tooth shaped card from The Cutting Cafe I knew I had to make it for Keiron's cousin who has just graduated as a dentist!!

I cut the card with my Cricut and used Spray and Sparkle from Crafters Companion to make the card all glittery - you can't see that so well on the photo.

The sentiment is also from The Cutting Cafe in the 2011 Congrats Grad printable stamp set.

I added a blue scalloped circle behind the sentiment as it was looking a bit too white!!  I also added two candies and wrapped some grey and white twine around the sentiment.  The mortar board I coloured with Promarkers.

Hope you like it!!

Happy Fathers Day

Some of you may have seen this card on the monthly inspiration over at The Cutting Cafe but I couldn't blog it before today as it is my Dad's Father's Day card and I didn't want him to see it on here.  (He told me he'd already seen his Father's Day card when he saw the shirt and tie card I did but that wasn't for him!!)

The car image is from The Cutting Cafe's Cruising by to say hi car set.  I coloured the printable stamp with promarkers and then used some glitter film over the top to make it all sparkly!

The cogs have been cut using Tim Holtz 'gadget gears' die. I used another of Tim's dies 'Upon a time' for the letters making up the 'happy fathers day'.

This is the first card I've used the glitter film on and I LOVE it!!!  The camera really doesn't pick up how sparkly it is - you can see a little bit more sparkle in the reflection.

Happy Father's Day to everyone!

Another fathers day card!

Another father's day card!  AND the first card made on my beautiful new desk!

This one is also for my Grandad but this time from my Dad.

My new Lili of the Valley stamps have come in SO handy for Father's day I normally really struggle with man cards but these stamps are great!

I coloured the image with my new Kuretake zig art and graphic pens that my Mum bought me for my birthday and gave me early!!! :) They are great!!

I then ran a piece of dark blue card through the cuttlebug in a dotty embossing folder and then mounted that on a piece of silver mirror card which I wrapped two grey/silver ribbons round.

I then just finished the card off with 4 red candis in the corners.  I don't have any candi in red (despite having 16 different colours!) so used white ones and coloured these with my zig art pens too!!!

Hope everyone has a great Father's Day, I need to go and get dressed as going out for lunch in half an hour!!!

Check back later this afternoon as my Dad's card will be posted later! :)

Glitter Geeks challenge 2 - male cards

Woo hoo!!  My first post exams card!!

This is for the second challenge at Glitter Geeks!  This week the theme is male cards - what with Father's day on Sunday...

I had already made my Dad's Father's day card (which you can see here tomorrow) so I decided to make a card for my Grandad instead.

I again tried to use things I hadn't really used much - this time a Martha Stewart punch and some nesties.

I coloured the stamped image with aquamarkers and then backed it on the two nesties.

I stamped the letters with a blue ink pad and then used a water brush to draw out the colour and colour in the letters.  I then mounted the letters onto silver card which I then covered with blue glitter film.  I then mounted that on to a blue and silver piece of patterned paper which I used a Martha Stewart punch on the edges.  I wanted the word Grandad to be the main focus of the card as my Grandad can't see very well so needed it to be big so he might be able to read it!!

I decided on a yellow background to brighten it up and compliment the blue and then added some ribbon and candies to finish it off.

Hope you like! :)  Carrying on with the reorganisation of the craft room tonight but hopefully will find time to make a card to post tomorrow too! Might even sneak in a trip to Ikea too!!

Have a great weekend!! xxx

Experimenting...

Phewwww!!!! They're all over!!! :)  So glad to not have to do any more exams for a while!  I can now enjoy the summer and get cracking on all the cards I need to do fo birthdays and the craft fair in August!!
I did have a little break from revision on Friday night to make a card and decided to use some new things that I'd had for a couple of months but not yet used:
- brayer
- cosmic shimmer
- Versamark
- Gorjuss girls stamps
- Tim Holtz stamps

And this is what I came up with!!

I used the brayer to get the pink background

I then stamped the butterfly and grass stamps from Tim Holtz in Versamark and dusted them with cosmic shimmer powders to get the shimmery effect.

The stamp is a Gorjuss girl stamp which I love!!  I coloured here with Promarkers and thought she was pefect for this card as it looks like she's being lifted off the ground by her balloon!

I finished off with a number '1' and the name 'Holly' in gems as this card is for a little girl called Holly whose first birthday it is on Sunday!

Hope you all like it I will be back with more cards soon!!! :)  The reorganisation of the craft room began tonight its all very exciting can't wait to get it all straight!

Also thankyou for all your good luck wishes on here and on twitter, sorry I didn't manage to get back to anyone yesterday it was a busy day!  I almost didn't make my exam because I got caught in traffic so my trip took me 2 hours longer than normal (luckily I had left an extra 3 hours just in case!!!).  I will get back on twitter as soon as I can and will get round to visiting all of your blogs too!! :)

Happy Thursday!!!
