Bowtastic

The theme at Crafty Boots Challenges this fortnight is Bowtastic - as set by ME! :)

Everything I have used on this card is from Crafty Boots but I shall add the links to the particular products as I go through it.

The card base is the 203mm Elegant Square card blanks.

For the orange background I sprayed Adirondack color wash spray in Sunset Orange.

The image is the freebie this week on the Crafty Boots Challenges blog and has been designed by Denise.

I actually printed the bow twice.

I cut the back loop off the first and then sprayed it using the Sunset Orange Color Wash spray.

Next I used the Mini Harlequin template and sprayed Color Wash in Purple Twilight through the template.

The second bow I sprayed in the Purple Twilight Color Wash only.

After sticking the two bows together using Glossy Accents, I sprayed the whole bow image with Perfect Pearl mist.

To finish the card off I sprayed some Icing Sugar card candi with the Purple Twilight color wash spray.

I hope you will join in with our challenge which actually has a lot of optional elements this week but if all else fails it is also Anything Goes so absolutely anything can be entered!!

Dandelion fairy

I have had this little Dandelion fairy from Some Odd Girl coloured for a few days but wasn't sure what to do with her.  I finally came up with this, but can't decide if I like it!

I coloured the fairy with Copics, I really want to try pointillism but the funky patterns on her dress is as close as I've got so far!!  I also added some opaque white to her dress too though.

I liked the dots and wanted to continue that theme so carried on doing different dots around the image.  I also then found some dotty punches including the Swiss Cheese edger punch from Crafty Boots which I think looks really cool punched around the image.

Copic colours I used were: BG000, BG01, BG02, BG10, BG13, BG15, R20, R22, R24, R27, E00, E02, E11, G21, W3 as well as gold and clear Spica pens and the opaque white.

Hopefully you can see the sparkle of the Spica pens a bit better here.  They really are super sparkly!

I added some letter stickers and some ribbon and used another punch to punch the edges of the backing card.

There's something I'm not sure about on this card but I *LOVE* this little fairy and am quite pleased with her and all my dots!!

Happy Birthday Kate

I think it's something to do with the colours but I love this card even though it's fairly simple!

I used a Lili of the Valley stamp which I got before Christmas but hadn't yet used and coloured her with Copics.

I cut a frame using nesties to put her in and added stickers to the frame as this card is for our friend Kate whose birthday is today.

I used the same purple card behind a patterned paper from the Lime Twist collection by My Minds Eye and the same silver stickers to spell 'Happy Birthday'.

A simple tag using Crafty Boots

To share with you today is a very simple 'Thank you' tag but it is quite special as it uses our new 'Crafty Boots' digital stamp!  Crafty Boots was designed by our very own DT Zoe and is the first in the 'Boots' range!

Crafty Boots is (in my opinion!) just gorgeous!!  I kept the tag really simple to show her off as I didn't think she needed anything else but herself.  I have coloured Crafty Boots with Copic marker pens (I have had a number of enquiries about stocking these pens and I can tell you that we are looking into it!).

I have cut Crafty Boots out and not used the floor and ribbon reels that are actually included in the image.  I wanted to show that she can also be used on her own.

The pink paper behind her is from the 'Love Me' paper pack from Crafty Boots and I have put glitter film on it.

I have also used some Icing Sugar candi from Crafty Boots but I coloured it with Copics to match Crafty Boots' jumper and used candi stamps (coming soon!) to stamp the word Thankyou.

The base of the tag is just a rectangular piece of gold card which I had lying around.  I used some pink twine instead of ribbon at the top of the tag.

Final card for the Some Odd Girl Facebook Fun Day challenge

OK so I couldn't help myself making one last card for the Some Odd Girl Bright challenge for their Facebook Fun Day.

This one isn't as bright as the others but it is bright blue so I hope it's OK...  I love it anyway.

If I were to send a card to myself, this would be it!

I used Renew again who is available in the UK from Crafty Boots.

I coloured her with Copics:
Face: E00, E11, E02, R20, R22, E25,
Hair: E33, E35, E37
Dress: BG11, BG13, BG15

I also used Copic opaque white on her eyes and cheeks (Thanks Kristy & Melissa for introducing me to this!!)

The shaped card base is available from Crafty Boots and I stuck pearls all the way around the edge.

I also stamped the sentiments (from the Renew stamp set!) directly onto the card base using Pool Party ink pad from Stampin Up.

Both the patterned papers are from the My Minds Eye 'Fly a Kite' paper stack (available from Crafty Boots) and I used a nestie shape to mount Renew on.  I also threaded some blue and white bakers twine around the edge of the circle in between the hearts.

I also used some gorgeous lace on the card.  This card really does have all my favourite things - lace, pearls 'BG' colours, Some Odd Girls (and in particular the gorgeous Renew!!), hearts, stars...  I really am pleased with this card.

It was weird at first trying to create cards without a particular project, event or recipient in mind but I really enjoyed doing something that was just for me.  I think I shall keep this one and stick it on the wall next to my desk.

Now though after all the excitement today I shall listen to my "me" card and go to bed now to relax, renew and restore!

I hope that everyone else who joined in the Fun Day had lots of fun and enjoyed the sneak peeks of the new sets - and the discounts for digis!!

Crafty Boots will be stocking all of the new sets for UK customers but due to the time it takes for them to ship here from the US it might not be until mid June!  I shall let you know as soon as they are here though as I have already had people asking me about the fabby mermaids!!!

Night night SOGgies! :) xxx

Another BRIGHT card for Some Odd Girl's Facebook fun day!

Here is another card for the Some Odd Girl Facebook Fun Day's BRIGHT challenge!!

This time I used Renew who can be purchased in the UK from Crafty Boots

For the background I used an 8x8 card blank from Crafty Boots and used Distress inks (mustard seed and squeezed lemonade) to distress the card blank.

I then used some grand nestabilities to cut out the papers and the shape.  Added some flat backed fems in the corners, ribbon and some baker's twine.

I coloured Renew with Copics.  I am taking a Copic colouring course at the moment which is run by Kristy from Some Odd Girl and Melissa who is on the Some Odd Girl design team.  The course is definitely helping me improve and I'm really happy with this one!! :)

Some Odd Girl Facebook Fun Day

Today Some Odd Girls are having a Facebook Fun Day event filled with discount codes, giveaways and some fantastic tutorials.

One part of the fun filled day is a 'BRIGHT' challenge.  So here is my first bright card (hopefully there will be more but this one took me way too long!!)

I tried to follow the resist embossing tutorial up there this morning but my heat gun died half way through so had to resort to patterned papers instead but I hope it's still suitable bright!!!

I used the fabulous Nouveau Girl clear stamp 'Royal' who is available from Crafty Boots in the UK

I coloured her with Copics (E00, E15, RV21, RV23, V06, V09, R20, R22, BG02) and I absolutely *LOVE* this cutie - you will see her a lot around here I can tell you!!!

The marbled paper you can see behind her I made at the Crafty Boots craft class last night (it started as plain white glossy card - cool huh??)

The sentiment I stamps is also from the same set as Royal.

I covered the pink chevron backing paper with pink glitter film and the candis are the Gold Wedding candi from Crafty Boots but I coloured them with my V06 copic to match the underside of Royal's dress.

Go and check out all the fab tuts on the Some Odd Girl blog and stop by their Facebook page to join in the fun!! xx

Happy Birthday Faye!

Today is Faye's birthday and this is the card that I made for her.

It's quite plain and simple but I was happy with it and didn't think it really needed much more!

I used an elegant square card blank from Crafty Boots and a digital stamp from Sylvia Zet's Wee Stamps.

I coloured her with Copics and cut her out with a grand nestability scalloped circle.  I then cut another mat with the next size up in green from an Echo Park paper pad.

Finally I added a birthday sentiment and a flat backed pearl.

Crafty Boots Challenges ~ Good Luck

The theme at Crafty Boots Challenges this week has been set by Sara and is Good Luck!

I was lacking a bit in inspiration for this challenge but here is the card I came up with!!

I used an image from Some Odd Girl.  I stamped her in Squeezed Lemonade distress ink from the Spring Distress Ink set (currently sold out but available to preorder from Crafty Boots!).

The stars and sentiment are from the same stamp set and have been stamped in Squeezed Lemonade and Shaded Lilac from the same Spring ink pad set.

I coloured the image with Copics and also used Spica pens on her eyelashes and wings but you can't see very well in the photo.

I stamped the words Good Luck in Peacock Feathers distress ink pad (from the Spring set again) using alphabet stamps from Stampin Up.

The flowers are from two Petaloo sets at Crafty Boots.  The top one was white but I coloured it using the Squeezed Lemonade distress ink again.

The backing paper is also from Crafty Boots and is new in stock - 'Sofia' from the Gypsy Sisters Kaisercraft collection.

Hope you will pop on over to Crafty Boots challenges and join in - there is also a Design Team call out until Friday 25th May - see the challenge blog for more details!!

More Pan Pastels

Today is Zoe's birthday and this is the card that I have sent to her for her birthday.

When I made this a few weeks back Zoe had been asking about PanPastels so I decided to use them on her card.  I LOVE the Ultramarine Blue colour and (I think) Zoe's football team have blue as their colour so I decided I definitely had to go with that!

I stamped a flower stamp from the Artistic Stamper in embossing ink and then applied the pastel  over the card picking up the colour.

The image I used is a 'Pip' stamp from Sugar Nellie and I coloured her with Copics, and Wink of Stella on her bow.

The sentiment is from the Circles Birthday sentiments from Crafty Boots but I put some of the blue pastel on it to make it all match!

Hope you have a great day Zo! xxx

Wryn & Mo

Today is my best friend Lucy's birthday and this is the card that I made to send her.

I used a scallop edge card blank from Crafty Boots and some turquoise glitter card as the background.  To this I added some papers from the Up Up & Away collection by First Edition Papers and matted these on a darker purple card.

The image is 'Wryn & Mo, love you the most' from Tiddly Inks.  I coloured them with Copics and wish I had made a note of what colours as I'm never normally happy with blonde hair but quite liked this and like the foxy colour I got too!!

Finally I added turquoise pearls around the scalloped edge and some pale blue card candi from the 'Ocean Spray' pack from Crafty Boots. which I stamped her name on.

This is the big cat which is one of the new digital stamps on sale at Crafty Boots under the 'Daffy Digis' range!

I have coloured him with copics.  The papers I used are from the Everyday Fun paper pad from Crafty Boots, with orange card underneath.

Finally I used some orange buttons and some orange bakers twine.

MORE bumping!!

I could not resist doing some more bumping as soon as I got home from Gabrielle's class.  I only have a couple of paints but luckily one is YELLOW! Which ties in nicely with this fortnight's YELLOW challenge at Crafty Boots Challenges.

I started with some black card and the circle grid template from Crafty Boots.  First I used some blue paint and then the yellow.  I loved this effect so much I didn't really want to cover it up, so I added a sentiment from the in circles birthday messages and left it at that!!

Don't forget to come and show us your yellow projects at Crafty Boots Challenges!!
